{"id":27,"date":"2006-10-13T18:49:17","date_gmt":"2006-10-14T00:49:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.jtalbot.com\/swim\/?p=27"},"modified":"2006-10-13T18:49:17","modified_gmt":"2006-10-14T00:49:17","slug":"no-water","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.jtalbot.com\/swim\/no-water\/","title":{"rendered":"No Water"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After what seemed like a fairly long day at work, I arrived at the gym to see an unfriendly sight.\u00c2\u00a0 Right at the front desk was a sign that warned guests that the pool was closed for repairs.<\/p>\n<p>I asked the manager what repairs were being made &#8212; it seemed fine yesterday.\u00c2\u00a0 He says that the old fat people broke off one of the stairs by the ladder at one end of the pool.\u00c2\u00a0 Why do they even let those people be members of the gym?!?\u00c2\u00a0 I don&#8217;t know exactly how often they break things, but this is the third or fourth thing I have seen broken in the past year.\u00c2\u00a0 It can&#8217;t be cost-effective to sell them a membership.<\/p>\n<p>So the pool is empty.\u00c2\u00a0 It won&#8217;t have water again until Monday at the earliest, according to the manager.\u00c2\u00a0 Right when I was starting to get back into it again, they go and rip the rug out from under my feet.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve always been a bit confused about why the old fat people use the ladder at one end of the pool when there is a wide staircase with a nice handrail at the other end of the pool.\u00c2\u00a0 The pool ranges from 4 feet deep at each end to 5 feet deep in the middle, so it&#8217;s not like there&#8217;s a good reason to get in using the ladder instead of the staircase.\u00c2\u00a0 I usually just jump in, using one hand to slow my descent, but I understand most people can&#8217;t do that.\u00c2\u00a0 But I don&#8217;t have any clue why the old fat people always want to use the ladder instead of the staircase.\u00c2\u00a0 And I really don&#8217;t understand why they would want to stop coming to the pool until the ladder is fixed, when they could have easily just started using the staircase!\u00c2\u00a0 I think I am starting to understand why Joe gets so frustrated with old people&#8230; it stems from all the time he has spent having to deal with their utter stupidity while at the gym.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>After what seemed like a fairly long day at work, I arrived at the gym to see an unfriendly sight.\u00c2\u00a0 Right at the front desk was a sign that warned guests that the pool was closed for repairs.
