I got so upset with the tiny seed starting sets we had last year that I refused to buy them this year. In fact, I super-sized just about everything. I&#8217;m hoping it gives the starts enough room to grow roots unencumbered this year. I guess we&#8217;ll soon find out.<\/p>\n<p>The garden supplies are just starting to show up in the stores, but we&#8217;ve already been to IFA and Smith&#8217;s to see what we could find. This is what we have so far:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Beans:<\/strong><br \/>\nFava Bean (Broad Windsor Pole)<br \/>\nLima Bean (Henderson Bush)<br \/>\nSoy Bean (Edamame)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Peppers:<\/strong><br \/>\nAnaheim<br \/>\nBig Jim<br \/>\nCalifornia Wonder<br \/>\nHabanero<br \/>\nJalapeno<br \/>\nMini Belle Mix<br \/>\nPoblano<br \/>\nSerrano<br \/>\nSweet Banana<br \/>\nSweet Red<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pumpkins:<\/strong><br \/>\nConnecticut Field<br \/>\nDill&#8217;s Atlantic Giant<\/p>\n<p><strong>Root Vegetables:<\/strong><br \/>\nBeet (Detroit Dark Red)<br \/>\nCarrot (Imperator)<br \/>\nLeek (Large American Flag)<br \/>\nOnion (Evergreen White Bunching)<br \/>\nParsnip (Harris Model)<br \/>\nRadish (Champion)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Squash:<\/strong><br \/>\nButtercup<br \/>\nButternut (Waltham)<br \/>\nSummer Crookneck<br \/>\nVegetable Spaghetti<br \/>\nZucchini (Elite Hybrid)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tomatoes:<\/strong><br \/>\nBrandywine Pink Tomato (Heirloom)<br \/>\nEarly Girl Tomato (Hybrid)<br \/>\nRoma Tomato<br \/>\nTomatillo<\/p>\n<p><strong>Other:<\/strong><br \/>\nCabbage (Red Acre)<br \/>\nCantaloupe (Alaska Hybrid)<br \/>\nEgg Plant (Asian, Long Purple)<br \/>\nLemon Cucumber<br \/>\nLettuce (Black Seeded Simpson)<br \/>\nStrawberry (Alpine)<\/p>\n<p>And if that&#8217;s not enough to convince you that we&#8217;re not messing around. It&#8217;s still February and I planted a few seeds today! Maybe that just means I&#8217;m crazy, or a little too excited for the upcoming season&#8230; or maybe I just have too much time on my hands.
